What happened next, to Rho, was extremely odd.
Her world of blinded crimson agony had suddenly shattered back into reality, her eyes fading back to normality, now wide with complete shock, arms falling limply by her sides as her fragile frame was pulled into a tight hug, barely having time to open her mouth to speak as Ryder tilted her chin upwards, encapsulating her lips in a kiss.
Rho was... dumbstruck.
Not only because of the strange, sudden nature of the kiss, but because of the poignant fact that it was her first ever kiss. Trembling slightly against his lips, her cheeks flooded red, unsure of how to react. Her hands hovered awkwardly over his waist, unsure of where to put them, if at all, trying her best to return the kiss, her lips still soft and warm despite her appearance as a Damned.
After a few long moments, her embarrassment got the better of her, and she pulled away, keeping her gaze averted from Ryder, still rather lost for words. "R-R-Ryder..." She murmured, voice hoarse and trembling, still looking shocked, blush as bright as ever.
What the hell had just happened?
He had comforted her, that was for sure... Just in the strangest way possible. Or, was that the norm? She honestly didn't know.
"T.... T... T-thank... y-you..."

Ryder wasn't surprised that she pulled away, he had actually expected it sooner then it happened. He looked away, not sure of what to say next. He had just kissed a Damned, that had to be looked down upon by some. But her lips were not unlike other's they were soft and warm like a human girl's were. He had been surprised by that fact, but then ago she hadn't really been changed drastically as far as a Damned went, she still had her basic figure after all.
He nodded, knowing that he had probably helped in a way that was unexpected. Hell, for all he knew it was her first kiss ever, he did feel her hands seemed to just brush his waist, not knowing what to do. "It was the only way I could think of to calm you down, I panicked. And coming from me it's a surprise that I panicked in the first place. I normally don't panic like that. I'm sorry if that was uncomfortable for you."
He walked back over to the wreckage of the desk, picking up his books and paper that had been scattered as the desk was impacted. He shrugged and shook his head, not knowing how she would respond, if she was even able to.
"Was that your first kiss?"

Rho let out a small squeak of anguish as he asked her if it was her first, sitting back in her chair, gazing up at him like a rabbit in the headlights, still flushed from the kiss. What a question! How could he just come out and ask her that... But then again, what exactly could she say other than the truth? Would it change his opinion of her?
"Well... y-yes, if you must know..." She admitted, quaking slightly. It wasn't normal to have your first kiss at twenty years old, she knew that fully well, but then again, she wasn't the most normal person in the world.
If she could still even be called a person.
"I'm... sorry to have made you... panic... I just..." She sighed, inclining her head into her chest.
"I don't like thinking about my past..." [/size]

Ryder nodded thoughtfully when she answered his question. So his assumption was right, she had never kissed anyone before. Maybe that was a clue to what would be needed to turn her back into a human? Ryder felt pretty confident that it was possible for the Damned who have not lost themselves completely, such as rho there in front of him.
Was she ever loved though? She seemed lonely, even for a Damned. Almost as if she had never known true love. Her parents probably loved her, though she may beg to differ. for all he knew she had never felt loved one time in her life. Was that what her problem was? Was that the reason why she became a Damned? Not because of a carrier, but because she had never felt true love?
He could change that, he just wasn't sure if he was the right person for her. Even if he wasn't Ryder would make sure to help her find someone who would. He thought for a moment before her next comment brought him back to reality.
"That's understandable, many people have memories that they don't want to remember at all. I can respect that, though if I said I ad things I didn't want to remember that woudl be a lie."

"You're a lucky one, then..." She replied softly, brow furrowing slightly, gently dragging one claw against the upholstery of the chair, watching the threads catch and unravel, creating a loose, faint tapestry of muted greens and blues over the crimson enamel. Watching it for a moment with muted interest, she then turned back to Ryder, studying his face for a moment, her eyes glimmering with a faint warmth, finding herself - despite the stress and emotions that had just come to pass - almost enjoying just being in his company.
It was odd, really.
Noting the thoughtful look flitting across his features, she gazed for a moment more, tipping her head to one side, realizing that he seemed to be deep in thought. Curiosity getting the better of her, she clasped her hands in her lap, managing a small, sweet smile.
"What are you thinking about?" Rho didn't see it as an odd question, she could almost see the thoughtful clockwork in his mind, even though most other people would find it somewhat invasive to have a person - especially one as strange as her.

Ryder raised an eyebrow at her next question. She was curious about what he had just been thinking about. He didn't want to bring back bad memories or anything though, which he would if he wasn't careful. He tapped his chin thoughtfully for a moment, trying to decide whether or not to tell her the truth. Then again, he was good enough with words, he could sidestep the issue and ask her indirectly.
"Have you ever heard of the people who go a bit whack because they have never been loved? It has happened multiple times in history, including a few serial killers." He turned and walked back to his work station, slowly starting to pick up all his papers that had been thrown about by the event. He smiled a little and shook his head.
"I haven't heard of anything like that happening in the past few decades, but in this dying world I would not be surprised if it happened again."
